Great ski trip and location to Sugar Mountain

Ian P. from Dunwoody, GA,

We stay at Sugar Ski and Country Club every year. Being at the top of the mountain is really nice. My twin 10 year olds love it.

Great location if you are an intermediate skier or above

Old but well maintained condo right on Oma's Meadow so if you can ski a blue slope, you can go right on it. If you are a beginner, you need to take the shuttle bus down to the lodge. The driver is very nice and responsive. Deserves his tips.
Couple of cons:
The snow machines are extremely loud and take getting used to in order to fall asleep at night. Especially if your unit is close to one like this one.
If you are planning on cooking, bring your equipment, including a cutting board. This condo has only very basic things.
I would go again but try to get a different unit farther from the snow machines and closer to the shuttle bus stop.
Also, getting out with a Honda Odyssey after it had snowed was quite a challenge. It was only possible with the help of the guy who works there shoveling the snow from under the tires, putting sand there and then helping us push the car up the hill. Another well deserved tip.

Roomy and modern decor.

First time at a ski in/out at Sugar Mountain and it was everything we had hoped for.

Very pleased. Comfortable rooms close to the slopes. The kids loved it.

Enjoyed the location

I thought it was a great location to visit to see the snow. Even though we didn't ski, we did snow tubing and other fun things. It's an older condo, but it was well maintained and had everything we needed. We loved the view from the balcony. We enjoyed our stay, thanks!

Needs some very easy updates.

The location was great and layout of the rental. We arrived, the unit smelled clean. Bathrooms and rooms were clean and not cluttered with decor. The issue is that the linens are amazingly old and do not seem clean. Pillows were so flat there is no way they were even less than 10 yrs old. The fridge was clean, but every dish and pan was dirty. To my dismay, the coffee maker did not work. I had to wash dishes in order to use them. This property could be great if they would update linens and go in and totally clean the kitchen and assess for stuff working and not cluttered in the kitchen. We do not plan to stay here again due to these issues. On the other hand, the pool was great, clean and easy to access. It was clearly newer and better maintained than the unit we rented.

Great place and helpful staff.

We stayed for two days. Loved the location and the accommodations. Nice and clean. Great views. It was our grand-daughters first time in the mountains. She loved looking down into the valley and seeing all the lights. She experienced seeing tree tops sway and we were eye level. Hot water heater messed up. We called and they sent someone right away even though it was after hours. They were very professional and helpful. Water heater was fixed. They don't have a Keureg, but they have a coffee maker. We have already booked again for post Christmas visit.

Contactless check in/out was great. Unit was clean and so convenient fo skiers. We had a few non skiiers stay so a bigger TV would be nice. Kitchen was well stocked except for oven mitts or a pizza cutter. Everything worked well and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Weekend Away

We rented this condo for the location and couldn't have been more pleased with that. It's an easy ski in/ski out experience perfect for teenagers. The condo was clean. I would recommend bringing some potholders if you plan on cooking as there weren't any. Other than that, everything we needed was available. The check in/out process was easy and quick. Wish the hot tub and pool would have been ready, but that didn't take away from a wonderful weekend.

Everything's good

We have stayed here for every summer for about 10 years. Rooms are always good and a great value. Over the years we have had a few issues but all were minor and had little to do with the room itself. This room has trees around which gives you a bit more privacy but lack the grand view of the mountains around. It's still nice just not that majestic sunrise that you get with other buildings.

Great except for squeaky bunk bed!

Susan M. from Candler, NC,

Large, comfortable rental with plenty of room for 6. Very convenient for skiing with slope access on both sides, expert one side and blue a short walk on the other. Do be aware there are no beginner slopes from the condo. I can’t speak to the comfort of the sofa, but two teenage girls slept on it with no complaints. The only issue with this unit is the Extremely squeaky bunk bed!! If you’re in the bottom bunk, you will wake whenever the person in the top rolls over.

Great

Awesome condo. Only complaint is the bunkbed could use some WD-40. It was very squeaky.

Mountain hospitality

Our group throughly enjoyed our visit. The staff were great and super helpful and went above and beyond to be helpful and hospitable. Great location right off one of the slopes, working in door fireplaces great view of the mountains, couldn't ask for much more than that.

Vacation

The property was very clean, fully functional, and comfortable. The property description was accurate and met our expectations. The customer service was very good. The property is an end unit up against ski runs and snow making machines are very loud and ran almost continuously. Great access to the slopes but bring ear plugs to help you sleep.

Great trip! Great stay!

Great place to stay. Good time with good friends.

Clean and spacious

Kim B. from Suwanee, GA, US
Stayed 3 days ending February 2016

Nice condo with plenty of room to relax and rest after a day on the slopes. The only suggestion I would have is to be a little more obvious on the location of the condo- - top of the mountain- - since those without 4 wheel drive may not want to venture up the mountain. Overall very, very clean.

A "Cool" way to spend those HOT summer days.

This was our second visit to The resort and it was wonderful. We loved the indoor swimming on rainy days which allowed us to meet other very friendly vacationers. The location is perfect for traveling to many other points of interest while staying high on the mountain top.. It is so much closer to everything compared to Beech which is where we took our honeymoon 40+ years ago.If you hate the summer heat of South Carolina this is the place to come!

ROOM FOR MORE~~

Amy P. from Adams Run, SC
Stayed 3 days ending February 2018

We had a group of teens and split them between two rentals. This one ended up being the place to be... and even got a few rogue sleepers. It easily accommodated 8 teen boys (willing to crash in places other than traditional bed space) and an adult chaperone. The only star lacking is for amenities that are unavailable during our stay.

Clean and convenient!

Katie N. from Charlotte, NC, Unknown

Very convenient and clean as well as cozy. Perfect for a weekend getaway. The condo was a bit dated, but in the end had everything we needed and slept all of us comfortably. It was pretty nice to ski right on and off the slopes!

Not Impressed

Anonymous from Clovis, NM
Stayed 3 days ending January 2020

This condo rental was extremely overpriced for what it offered. The guest bed was the most uncomfortable and nosy bedframe. On top of that, the comforter smelled like body odor- so bad that I had to go sleep on the couch. There was no snow while we were staying here so to pay pricing for "ski in ski out" during the "Peak" season was ridiculous. Will not recommend or stay here again. Also, the cleaning crew came into unit while we were away without our permission. This made us feel very uncomfortable.
